Teacher Position

We are seeking the brightest, the best and the most committed to inspire students in Maine’s newest Charter School, ACADIA Academy. We are currently seeking a full time kindergarten, second, and third grade teacher for ACADIA. Preference will be given to applicants with teaching certificate, staff holding or eligible for their 020 certification from the Department of Education (new May graduates may apply!). Experience with Lucy Culkins, Saxon Math, Reading Mastery, FOSS Science, differentiated instructional practice, Charter school experience, PBIS, and standards-based reporting is not required but will make a candidate stand out amongst others.

Teachers must be committed to the vision of ACADIA…providing a comprehensive blend of instruction to children that involves Direct Instruction and experiential learning opportunities.  In return, the Board of Directors promises our teacher’s small classroom sizes (16-18 maximum!), ongoing support and professional development opportunities, resources and opportunities for collaboration and the celebration of student success!

Assistant Teacher Position

We are seeking the brightest, the best and the most committed teachers in the Lewiston/Auburn region to work in Maine’s newest Charter School, ACADIA Academy. We are currently seeking full time teaching assistants for ACADIA, qualified candidates must hold or be eligible for an Ed Tech 3 certification. Daily duties include but are not limited to small group instruction in SEL, math, reading and writing, whole class support of students, PM bus aide or before/aftercare program support. Hours can be flexible but vary depending on school program need.

Aftercare Teacher

Acadia Academy is looking for a full time childcare staff. The chosen candidate must be 18 years of age, willing to participate in 18 hours a year of training for DHHS requirement, hold a Diploma or GED and possess group leader qualifications. A degree is not required but an Associate’s degree in an educational field or 5 years of direct experience will make a candidate stand out amongst others.   Preference is given to early childhood, education, psychology, or human services majors. Local college students are encouraged to apply!
